FBL-ARGENTINA-CANIGGIA-RETIREMENT
(FILE) Argentina-s forward Claudio Caniggia (L) receives instructions 03 June 2002 during a morning training session at the J-Village Naraha training camp in Japan. Caniggia, one of the stars of Argentinian football during the last decade, announced 19 February 2005 his retirement at the age of 38. The Argentinian striker, who made his professional debut with River Plate in 1985, also played for Verona, Atalanta, AS Roma, Boca Juniors, Benfica and Dundee before moving to Rangers and finally Qatar Club. He played 50 matches and scored 16 goals for his country in an international career which spanned 15 years from 1987, and in all he played 457 matches and scored 122 goals. AFP PHOTO/Daniel GARCIA
