BRAZIL-MILITARY MEDICAL SUPPORT-STANG
A Cougar helicopter carrying military doctors, nurses and dentists of the 51th Jungle-s Infantry Batallion lands in the Brazilian town of Anapu in northern Para state, 20 February 2005, as part of a medical support operation to help the local residents. The murder of Dorothy Stang, 74, a US-born missionary who spent decades working with the poor in Para state, has forced authorities to take action against lawlessness in the Amazon and to get involved with the communities of the area.
