The first troops of the Australian-led intervention force patrol the Red Beach landing site near Honiara in the Solomon Islands, 24 July 2003. Over 2,000 troops and police from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Tonga are expected to take part in Operation Helpem Fren to retore law and order to the deeply troubled South Pacific nation.
