A Kenyan police officer stands guard at the body of a street child who drowned in the filthy Nairobi River 27 February 2005 after anti-riot police lobbed teargas canisters on scores of children who were relaxing at the capital-s Globe Cinema bus terminus. The Kenyan capital is home to thousands of street children, many of whom left their homes due to poverty, others orphaned by AIDS.
