A man, who has returned from working in a foreign country, dries the slices of sweet potatoes on a rock, near his village home in the isolated Pingjiao Ziran village on Pingtan island, just off the coast of Fujian 03 February 2005. Large numbers of impoverished Chinese head overseas legally and illegally every year in search of work, if they can afford it, they go to Europe or even the United States, but the majority have to settle for the cheapest option, and that means travelling to war-torn Iraq where construction work is abundant.
