Simpson double murder trial; Cochran tried to ridicule the prosecution theory that Simpson wore a cap the night of the murders. Cochran, who shot to worldwide fame by leading the legal team that got US football star O.J Simpson acquitted, died 29 March, 2005 at the age of 67. Cochran died at his home in Los Angeles of an inoperable brain tumor that he has been suffering from for some time, the Los Angeles Times quoted his brother-in-law Bill Baker as saying.
