WITH AFP STORY "POLISH SHOEMAKER HOPES HIS SOLES WILL GO WITH POPE-S SOUL TO HEAVEN"
Polish cobbler Stanislaw Zmija poses 06 April 2005 outside his shoemaking shop in Krakow. Stanislaw Zmija, who made shoes for John Paul II for the past 20 years, said today he hoped the Pope would be clad in his soles when his soul goes to heaven. "I would be very happy if John Paul II went to the kingdom in the sky in my shoes," said 65-year-old Stanislaw Zmija, who lives in the village of Stanislaw Dolny, around 30 kilometers south of Krakow, which specialises in shoemaking.
