Helle Thorning-Schmidt (C) is cheered 12 April 2005 after she was elected new chairman of the Socialdemocratic Party. Helle Thorning-Schmidt got 55 per cent of the members- votes. The loosing contender was former minister of justice Frank Jensen. Thorning-Schmidt-s father-in-law is the former chairman of the British Labour Party Neil Kinnock.
