Not only are the 36-year-olds identical twins but their talent as classical guitarists has earned rave reviews -- and a welter of prizes, not least the 1998 Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York and the 2004 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. The virtuosity and resplendence of their playing at a private concert in Madrid this week was all the more overwhelming for the intimacy of the setting at the British ambassadorial residence. Yet the flair and the passion both coax from their instruments, drawing on vast reservoirs of mutual telepathy, has won the Katonas such renown that they have deposited their calling cards at such prestige venues as Carnegie Hall, New York, Tokyo-s Suntory Hall and Amsterdam-s Concertgebouw.
