POLAND-RYWIN
Polish cinema producer Lew Rywin (R), 59,enters a prison in Warsaw 18 April 2005. Rywin, convicted last year in connection with a scandal which brought down prime minister Leszek Miller, began 18 April a jail term after a defence appeal to suspend the sentence for health reasons was rejected. Rywin was sentenced in December 2004 to two years in prison for offering the Agora media group help in amending a law which would have allowed Agora, publisher of the main Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza, to purchase private television company Polsat.
