VATICAN-POPE-MASS
People gathered on St Peter-s Square watch on a giant screen the first mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI, at the Vatican City 20 April 2005. The pontiff, visibly moved and wearing the papal miter on his head, led a solemn procession followed by the 114 cardinals into the Sistine Chapel, where they had chosen him Tuesday to succeed the late John Paul II.
