DENMARK-PARTIES-NEW-SOCIAL-DEMOCRAT-CHAIRMAN
The newly elected leader of Denmark-s Social Democratic Party, 38 year-old Helle Thorning-Schmidt, meets the foreign press, 20 April 2005 at the International Press Center in Copenhagen. Thorning-Schmidt, who was a member of the EU-Parliament in the previous term, was for the first time elected to the Danish Parliament february this year. Thorning-Schmidt is married to Stephen Kinnock, a son of the former chairman of the British Labour Party Neil Kinnock. The couple has two small daughters. AFP PHOTO/ Keld Navntoft/Scanpix
