Passers-by walk pat a reflection of a share prices chart in dountown Tokyo, 17 September 2003. Japanese share prices rose 1.41 percent Wednesday morning, with the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei-225 index gaining 153.63 points to end the early session at 11,040.66. It was the first time the benchmark index had climbed above the 11,000 point level on an intraday basis since 8 July 2002.
