Eduard Ovidiu Ohanesian, Marie Jeanne Ion and Sorin Dumitru Miscoci are alive a source close to the presidency said late Wednesday, although the deadline set by their kidnappers had expired several hours earlier. In a videotape aired by Al Jazeera on Friday, militants threatened to kill the three -- abducted on March 28 in Baghdad -- unless Romania pulls out its troops by this afternoon.
