SURFING-TAHITI-SANCHO-TRIAL
Ben Sancho of France rides a wave to take the highest place for European with a quarterfinal finish in the Tahiti Nui/VZ Trials, in Teahupoo, Tahiti, 28 April 2005. Sancho surfed a strong round four heat, but lost out to local kid Heiarii Williams in the quarters. The Air Tahiti Nui/VZ Trials comprises of 40 international surfers and 40 Tahitians. The winner and the highest placed Tahitian in the Trials will earn wildcard slots into the Billabong Pro, the third stop on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT) where they will have the chance to compete for the title against the Top 44 surfers in the world.
