Romania-s former King Michael and his wife Anne de Bourbon-Parme, surrounded by Czech soldiers holding wreath, 05 May 2005 in Kromeriz, pay homage to Romanian soldiers who died in World War II. King Michael began 03 May a five-day trip through Slovakia and the Czech Republic to visit the graves of Romanian soldiers. The 83-year-old Michael, who switched sides during the war and was the last surviving head of state to have played a mayor role in the conflict, is doing the driving himself and is accompanied by his wife Anne de Bourbon-Parme and son Prince Radu. Michael already visited Bratislava and Banska Bystrica in Slovakia and Kromeriz in the Czech Republic and will visit Brno and Prague before flying to Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to take part 60th anniversary celebrations of the end of WWII.
