(NEW ZEALAND OUT FAIRFAX OUT) A police officer (R) looks over the crash site where eight people died, including a number of foreign tourists, when their van collided with a truck loaded with timber near Waikato on the North Island, 18 May 2005. The crash, which killed a Thai woman, a US man and his wife, a New Zealand man, a man believed to be French, plus three Indians, was New Zealand-s worst road crash in a decade.
