FILES - Picture taken 06 April 2005 shows Moroccan Mounir el Motassadeq awaiting the beginning of his trial that started 10 August 2004 at a court in the northern German city of Hamburg. His lawyer Udo Jacob said 24 May 2005 that new documents supplied by the United States would help to clear his client, as they show Motassadeq was not aware of the plot to fly planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. El Motassadeq was the first person convicted in connection with the 11 September 2001 attacks and was sentenced to 15 years jail in 2003 but was freed on appeal in March 2004.
