FRANCE-CORSCIA-BLAST
A picture taken 25 May 2005 of the rubble of a house, under construction in Sagone, Corscia, which was destroyed in a bomb attack the day before. A splinter group of the banned National Front for the Liberation of Corsica-Union of Fighters (FLNC-UC) known as the "October 22 FLNC" warned 20 May 2005 just ahead of Corsican nationalist leader Charles Pieri-s sentencing to 10 years in prison that it would take "spectacular actions" in retaliation, and claimed responsibility for 17 past attacks. The FLNC-UC called off a 15-month truce on the eve of Pieri-s five-week trial in Paris, saying it was "stepping up the struggle across all fronts, with no exception". AFP PHOTO STEPHAN AGOSTINI
