Russian President Vladimir Putin is seen on a huge screen at Putrajaya's convention center as he addresses the opening session of the 10th summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Malaysia's administrative capital 16 October 2003. Putin's attendance as an observer underscores "the importance for Russia, a large number of whose inhabitants practice Islam, to be present at this prestigious forum," a Kremlin statement said before his arrival in Malaysia.
