IRAQ-US-ELECTRICITY
A brother and sister stand under electricity cables strung in front of their home in a neighborhood in central Baghdad 06 June 2005. The electricity cables have been put up by the resident who feed electricity off other main generator cables and pylons. A major power station in Iraq has been brought back on line, restoring power to around 81,000 homes in the war-ravaged country, the US military said today. The Qudas plant north of Baghdad was renovated in an eight-month operation by Iraqi workers and employees of US giant General Electric. The residents of this city have been living with eight hours of electricity a day being supplied in unites of two hours on and six hours off. AFP PHOTO/ALI AL-SAADI
