SAFRICA-SARDINES-SEAGULL

An injured sea gull is fed a sardine 19 June 2005 on a Durban beach. Like the running of the bulls in Spain, the migration of the wildbeast across Kenya, the sardine run along South Africa-s East Coast is an annual event attracting thousands of locals and tourists. Each year massive shoals of sardines stretching hundreds of miles draw thousands of sharks, dolphins and gannets hovering above the fish. Masses of fishermen, locals line the shores to watch, catch and some sell them to make a living by selling a pocket of 1 kilogram for $ 1 US dollar seen at the Mtwalume, some 75 kilometres south of Durban on 19 June 2005.
