Exercise Dakota Recovery is a Joint Exercise between the Royal Australian Air Force and Tentara National Indonesia-Angatan Udara (TNI-AU) to recover remains and personal effects from Dakota A65-61 which crashed into the highlands of Papua on 18 September 1945. The remains of 29 people killed in the crash just after the end of World War II have been recovered and will receive a formal military funeral, Defence Minister Robert Hill said 24 June 2005.
