(FILES) Photo dated 25 March 2001 shows US screenwriter and producer Ernest Lehman at the Shrine Auditorium during the 73rd Academy Awards in Los Angeles where he was given an honorary Academy Award. Lehman, who wrote the scripts for the legendary musical "West Side Story" and the Alfred Hitchcock classic "North by Northwest," died 05 July 2005 at age 89, US media reported 06 July. He collaborated with director Robert Wise in four films, including "West Side Story" (1961), which won 10 Oscars, and "The Sound of Music" (1965), which starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Lehman also wrote the screen adaptation of the play "Who-s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", the 1966 film directed by Mike Nichols, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
