US-HURRICANE DENNIS-WIND
A couple brace against the high winds in Panama City Beach, Florida, on the coast line 10 July 2005 as hurricane Dennis approaches. The deadly hurricane thundered toward the US Gulf coast, looking set to slam ashore in the very area devastated by a similar storm last year, and causing massive evacuations. Authorities had ordered close to 1.5 million people to evacuate their homes in coastal areas from western Florida to New Orleans, but said earlier in the day that those who had not left should hunker down as it was too late to flee.
