NDL-LLOYD HOTEL AMSTERDAM
View dated 28 June 2005 of a lounge/studyroom, part of the so-called Cultural Embassy of the Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam. It once served as a prison during the Nazi occupation, but instead of trying to gloss over its history Amsterdam-s Lloyd Hotel has embraced its past and coupled original features with modern Dutch design. On Amsterdam-s bustling Eastern docklands, close to the central station, the Lloyd hotel is one of the few old buildings left standing after the area was transformed into a hip residential area in the past decades.
