FRANCE-RELIGION-TOUSSAINT
Fans applaud rock musicians performing in concert at the Church of Saint Sulpice in Paris as the Catholic Parisian Diocese mounted its second annual anti-Hallowe'en operation, "Holy Wins," on the eve of All Saints Day 31 October 2003. The Church hoped to remind Parisians of the true meaning of the religious date, in face of the mounting commercialization of the exported American holiday with what the organizers called its negative image of the after-life.
