RUSSIA-KURSK-ANNIVERSARY
(FILES) A file picture dated 19 October 1999 shows the commander of the Russian Navy-s nuclear-powerd -Kursk- submarine Gennady Lyachin (R) saluting and reporting after the vessel-s return from a trip to the Mediterranian Sea. On 12 August 2005 Russia will mark the fifth anniversary of the Kursk accident during which 118 crewmen perished in the icy Barents sea. The Kursk sank during naval exercises off northwestern Russia after an explosion in one of the submarine-s torpedo tubes. AFP PHOTO
