L-R: US Attorney David Kelley, US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and IRS Commissioner Mark Everson announce that accounting giant KPMG admitted criminal wrongdoing and has agreed to pay 456 million USD in fines, restitution and penalties, during a press conference 29 August, 2005 at the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. According to the Justice Department, this is the largest criminal tax case ever filed. Nine individuals are also being criminally prosecuted in relation to the multi-billion-dollar criminal tax fraud conspiracy.
