Deputy mayor of Grenoble Michel Destot answers journalists- questions upon his arrival at the Roissy airport, north of Paris, 21 September 2005. Michel Destot declared that his meeting with the Hewlett Packard executives in the United States was -very useful- as it showed France-s -engagement- against US computer group Hewlett Packard-s decision to cut 1,240 jobs in France. French President Jacques Chirac called 20 September for the government to involve the European Commission after US computer group Hewlett Packard-s decision to cut up to 6,000 jobs across the continent.
