PERU-ARCHAEOLOGY-MOCHE-SACRIFICES
Restorers work on a mural wall representing warriors on their way to being sacrificed in the ceremonial complex of Huaca de la Luna - open for the public since August 2005 in Trujillo, in Peru-s northern coast, 27 September 2005. Iconographic murals at the site depict the human sacrifices made by the Moche civilizaton, settled in the area between the years 200 BC and 600 AD, to honour or appease the Gods in many cases to prevent different natural disasters.
