KENYA-PAKISTAN-ICRC-RELIEF
An ICRC official inspects relief supplies, 20 October 2005 at the the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, bound for Pakistan to aid desperate survivors of a devastating earthquake that killed more than 48,000 and displaced some 2.5 million. The flight is one of three that will deliver 200 metric tonnes of food, tents and medical suplies to Pakistan. The interior Pakistani ministry said the earthquake killed 30,800 people in Pakistani Kashmir, 16,850 in North West Frontier Province and around 100 elsewhere in Pakistan.
