GERMANY-HISTORY-WWII-BRITAIN-DRESDEN-FRAUENKIRCHE
Visitors of the eastern German city of Dresden watch postcards at a souvenir shop on 30 October 2005, the day of the re-consecration of Dresden-s rebuilt Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). The 18th century Protestant church, a searing symbol of the suffering of German civilians after its destruction in World War II bombing and now of reconciliation between the one-time enemies, has been re-consecrated after over 10 years of reconstruction costing some EUR 180 million (218 million dollar).
