Police in Houston Texas were searching 04 November for a death row convict who changed his clothes and donned a fake law enforcement badge before strolling out of jail, the Harris County Sheriff-s Office said. Convicted killer Charles Victor Thompson, 35, convinced guards at the Harris County jail on 03 November, that he was going to meet his lawyer, according to sheriff-s office spokesman Lieutenant John Martin.Thompson then somehow changed his orange prisoner jumpsuit for casual slacks, a blue shirt and white tennis shoes, and walked out of the jail in the middle of the afternoon waving an apparent badge of an official from the state attorney general-s office, Martin said. "It was convincing enough, he was able to convince one of our deputies to let him out of the facility," said Martin.
