BAHRAIN-FORUM FOR THE FUTURE
Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad al-Khalifa speaks during a press conference 10 November 2005 in Manama, a day before the opening of the "Forum for the Future". The US and British foreign policy chiefs are expected to attend the forum in Gulf kingdom to discuss progress on a controversial US-sponsored democratisation plan for the region. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is touring the region, and British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw will be joined by foreign ministers or their assistants from 36 countries at the two-day forum due to open tomorrow.
