BRITAIN-POLICE-SHOOTING
West Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Colin Cramphorn holds a collect picture of PC Sharon Beshenivsky who was shot dead by armed robbers in Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, 19 November 2005. Fatal shootings of British police officers -- the majority of whom are unarmed -- are rare and Friday-s incident is the first death of a policewoman since 2001. Prime Minister Tony Blair and Home Secretary Charles Clarke expressed their "shock and sadness" at the shootings, which took place outside Universal Express travel agents.
