French President Jacques Chirac gives a press conference 22 November 2005 at the Elysee palace in Paris after a meeting with unions- leaders and businessmen. A nationwide rail strike in France today brought travel woes for commuters and tourists -- and provoked a strong backlash against the main union responsible.
