Nearly three months after the departure of Israeli troops, the Gaza Strip reopens to the world 25 November when the Rafah crossing into Egypt resumes operations under Palestinian control. Rafah, Gaza-s only link with the outside world except Israel, has been open only intermittently since the historic withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory on September 12 following 38 years of occupation.
