SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO-FEATURE-COMMUNIST YUGOSLAVIA
Winner of the "Most beautiful partisan woman" contest Sladjana Mitrovic (2L) and other participants pose for photographers in front of the picture of former Yugoslav communist leader Josip Broz Tito in Pozarevac, 100km south east of Belgrade, 29 November 2005. Many fans of communist Yugoslavia gathered to celebrate the Day of the Communist Republic. November 29 had been the national holiday of the communist Yugoslavia that fell apart in a series of bloody wars in the 1990s. However, a number of citizens from all parts of the former country, divided now in five independent states - Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Macedonia, have continued to celebrate the holiday and memory of Tito. Communist Yugoslavia was officially founded on November 29th 1943 and the date was celebrated as a national holiday for almost six decades. AFP PHOTO / ANDREJ ISAKOVIC
