Four chickens in eastern Romania have been diagnosed with the H5 strain of bird flu, veterinary officials said 04 December 2005, quoted by the Mediafax news agency. A laboratory in Weybridge, England, will test samples from the birds to determine whether they were infected with the deadly sub-strain of H5N1 bird flu that has killed more than 60 people in Asia. The cases were detected in the small town of Cioacile, said the head of the national veterinary service, Gabriel Predoi. AFP PHOTO DANIEL MIHAILESCU
