FILES - A file picture taken on 01 July 2005 shows German Interior Minister Otto Schily of the Social Democratic SPD party during a debate at the Bundestag lower house of parliament in Berlin. The former Interior minister Schily came under pressure 05 December 2005 to explain whether he helped the CIA cover up the case of a German wrongfully arrested by their agents and held for five months. According to the Washington Post, the US ambassador to Germany at the time, Daniel Coats, told Schily in May 2004 about the case of a German of Lebanese origin, Khaled el-Masri, who was wrongly held in Afghanistan for five months.
