Lebanese protesters hold up anti-Syrian placards during the funeral of Lebanese lawmaker and press magnate Gibran Tueini during his funeral in Beirut, 14 December 2005. Tens of thousands of mourners gathered in the Lebanese capital to pay a last farewell to Tueini, 48, pointing accusing fingers at former powerbroker Syria for his murder. The anti-Syrian MP, who was killed 12 December in a massive car bombing in a suburb of Beirut, has been championed as the last "martyr" of Lebanon-s regained independence and a champion of freedom.
