(FILES) Tanzanian then Foreign Minister Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete gives, 16 November 2004, his opening speech for the Pre-summit of the foreign ministers of the international Conference on the Great Lakes Region in Dar Es Salaam. Jakaya Kikwete has won a landslide victory in the race to succeed Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa, cementing the ruling Revolutionary Party-s (CCM) four-decade grip on power, according to results released 18 December 2005 by the electoral board.
