TANZANIA-POLITICS-ELECTIONS
The Opposition Presidential Candidate for Tanzania Labour Party, TLP, Augustine Mrema, displays a presidential ballot paper outside the High Court in Dar es Salaam, 19 December 2005. Mrema filed a petition to block the country-s Electoral Board from announcing the ruling CCM party Presidential Candidate Jakaya Kikwete, winner of Friday-s general elections. Tanzania-s Revolutionary Party (CCM) cemented its four-decade grip on power when presidential election results confirmed victory for its candidate, Foreign Minister Jakaya Kikwete.
