SWE-NOBEL PRIZE-CHEMISTRY-AGRE
Nobel Prize winner in chemistry Peter Agre, 54, during a joint press conference given by the Laureates inphysics, chemistry and economics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm 07 December2003. Agre and fellow American Roderick MacKinnon, 47, won the prize for work that put the spotlight onmolecular biology, by uncovering pores that help cells to exchange water and electrically-charged salts known asions.The Nobel Prize ceremonies will be held in Stockholm and Oslo (Peace Prize) 10 December.
