KENYA-WILDLIFE-CONSERVATION-STRATEGY
Zebras gaze in the morning sun 14 January 2006 at Nairobi National Park, where Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers were relocating rhinos to Meru Park, 160 kilometres (100 miles) away. KWS officials have warned that the current drought in Kenya, which has put millions of people cross east Africa, and risks of famine are threatening the country-s wildlife herds as they stray from protected reserves to foray for scarce food and water. Most affected are the herbivores that include, elephants, rhinos, buffallos and giraffes. AFP/ SIMON MAINA
