PAKISTAN-ATTCKS-UN-GUARD
A Pakistani paramilitary guard stands on guard outside the UN office in Quetta, 17 January 2006. The United Nations has temporarily closed its offices in Pakistan-s troubled southwest Baluchistan province after receiving a telephone threat mentioning the Al-Qaeda network. The 48-hour shutdown comes amid anger at an alleged US air strike on a Pakistani village, which allegedly targeted Al-Qaeda-s number two Ayman al-Zawahiri but instead killed 18 people.
