JAPAN-CANON
Managing-director of Japanese camera giant Canon, Toshizo Tanaka, hands out reports on the company-s final accounts to reporters as he announces group net profits for the year to December gained 11.9 percent from a year earlier to an all-time high of 384.1 billion yen (3.3 billion USD) at a press conference at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, 30 January 2006. Canon said it marked record high profits and sales for the year to December thanks to robust sales of digital cameras and color printers, projecting a better performance this year.
