MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-GERMANY-STEINMEIER-AL KIDWA
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his Plaestinian counterpart Nasser al-Qidwa leave the Muqata after meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah 14 February 2006. During talks with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem the previous day, Steinmeier said that Berlin had no intention of following Russia-s lead and holding talks with Hamas which is considered as a terrorist organisation by the European Union.
