EU Agriculture ministers take meeting on the bird flu after the H5N1 bird flu virus was identified 18 February 2006 for the first time in France, Iran and India. Six member states of the European Union have now confirmed the presence of the potentially lethal strain of the virus to humans, which is spreading across the continent after showing up in Turkey and central Europe.
